Who am I?

It is hard to put your story into 200 words in order not to send readers to sleep (and I have already spent 24 words!), but I will try...

Name – Radina Alena/Alyona (the story about the Russian letter “ё” (Алёна) and dots in my passport is long and complicated).

Date of birth – 29.12.1994 (perfect date to get two presents for both birthday and New Year), stubborn and industrious Capricorn, working without reference to time.

Place – Born in Novomoskovsk. Hometown in Russia, Tula region (famous for weapons and honey cakes), but last four years I was living in Moscow.

Family – Mother (Irina Radina – chemistry and economics degree, Credit officer in Sberbank), father (Albert Radin – chemistry degree, but he worked as a cook, now he is a children’s furniture designer), all the relatives are connected to chemistry and sciences, except me, an absolute outsider in such spheres.

Education – Primary School with the strictest teacher ever and easy Middle School were both spent at School №4 in Novomoskovsk.

High School at the Lyceum №1, best school in the whole Tula Region and one of the best schools in Russia.

I am running out of words already…

Ten years at music school in professionally advanced class of piano. It was a complicated decision between two paths – musical future and journalism.

I have used the allowed number of words… However, I will continue anyway... :) It is connected to journalism.

Journalism won! -> National Research University Higher School of Economics in Moscow, faculty of communications, media and design (Department of Economic and Political Journalism). -> Tsinghua University in Beijing, Department of Journalism and Communication (Global Business Journalism Program).

Work – Not serious: earned my first money as an AVON cosmetics distributor at the age of 14, worked as a reporter at the Lyceum newspaper.

Serious – Morning show editor at the State Radio Company “Mayak,” journalist and translator at “Happy parents” magazine, Russian teacher assistant in HSE university, night editor on “LifeNews” TV channel, reporter on daily news broadcasting program “Anatomy of the Day” on “HTB” TV channel.

International Experience – Exchange student at The Cologne School of Journalism in Germany, intern in the Ancient Literature Study Internship in Rome, Italy; thanks to my beloved mommy, addicted to travelling (17 countries under my belt and hopefully, many more in the future to explore).

Volunteering – International volunteer in AIESEC Project “Driblando” in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to teach English and Country Studies for children from criminal districts; AIESEC Project “Dare to Dream” in Zhangye, China to teach English and Country Studies lessons for school children.

Hobbies – Languages (Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese), run travelogue during trips, experiment with hairstyles, give pieces of my heart to friends around the globe and after that miss them inexpressibly.

Plans – Learn Chinese as much as possible, improve economic knowledge, journalism skills, English, explore China, try to get internship on CCTV, learn not to move beyond prescribed number of words!
